Another addition to Rock n Roll Heaven

Oliver Taylor Hawkins born February 17. 1972 is the latest addition to Rock n Roll Heaven. His death was announced this past Friday.

.    The Foo Fighters had been touring in South America and were set to perform at The Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogotá Columbia.

.    According to a statement by Bogotás Secretary of Health,  emergency responders were called to The Four Seasons Casa Medina Hotel where resuscitation attempts were already in progress from a private health provider but those attempts were unsuccessful and the drummer was pronounced dead at the scene.

.   Although, at this time, there is no official cause of death, preliminary findings released Saturday by Columbia's Attorney General said that a urine toxicology was performed resulting in 10 substances being found in the sample including, THC, (which is the main component in marijuana that causes the euphoric feeling or "high" that marijuana is known for.) The results of the toxicology also resulted in the presence of tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines, and opioids.

.    In a statement by The Foo Fighters, the group said,"his musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with us forever."

.    In a statement by rock group Led Zeppelins legendary guitar player, Jimmy Page recalled playing with Foo Fighters in 2008 at London's Wembley Stadium saying, "It was so good to play with him. I really admired him. He was a brilliant musician, his techniques, his energy and spirited enthusiasm."
