Head on collision in Palmdale

A driver was killed and 4 others injured in a head on collision that happened in Palmdale Sunday Morning.

.    The incident occurred around 11:20am on Sunday, March 27.

.    According to reports by California Highway Patrol, a 27 year old man was driving a 2004 Volvo traveling north on 50th Street East north of Avenue N , when he veered intro the southbound lane colliding head-on with a 2005 Dodge. 

.    The 23 year old man driving the Dodge suffered major injuries and was transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center. One passenger, a 23 year old female suffered minor injuries and was transported to Northside Hospital. A 4 year old boy and infant girl were also transported to the Northridge Facility. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed.

.    It's unknown what caused the driver of the Volvo to travel into the opposite lane at this time and the involvement of alcohol or drugs and further details about the incident  is still under investigation.

.    The driver of the Volvo who suffered fatal injuries was not identified pending next if kin notification.
